When will I see the results of a hair transplant?

You will begin to see results about 60 days after your hair transplant. Between 14 and 21 days after the procedure, your newly transplanted hairs may fall out, but this is a normal part of the healing process. The hair roots are still under the skin and over the next few months new, strong hairs will grow out. After about 6 months, about 70% of the follicles will have produced new hairs. It can take up to a year for the remaining hairs to fully develop.

Can other treatments enhance the results of a hair transplant?

Yes, a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment can help improve blood circulation and can speed up the recovery process. 

Why should I not go to the pool or sauna after a hair transplant?

We do not recommend this in the first month after the hair transplant, because your scalp has not yet recovered and the risk of infection is therefore higher.

When can I blow dry my hair again?

After surgery only with cold air. 1 month after surgery you may blow dry again with hot air.

How long does the donor area remain sensitive?

1 month. You will mainly feel itching and see redness in the first month.

How long should you not smoke after hair transplant?

The first week after the transplant you should not drink alcohol, use drugs or smoke. The first four weeks after the hair transplant we recommend not to cut the hair (or have it cut).

When can I wear a head covering after my hair transplant?

You can generally wear a hat about 10 days after your hair transplant. This 10-day period is ideal as it allows the transplanted hair follicles to establish themselves in the balding areas without any disturbances.
