Hip augmentation - Face2Face Clinic | Helping trans women transition successfully

Hip augmentation

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) can help in changing the formation of soft tissues in the body and redistributing existing fat. However, in cases where HRT does not achieve the desired soft tissue changes, surgical interventions through body feminization surgery can be a solution. Hip augmentation can create a lower waist-to-hip ratio for those who desire it.

Procedure

The most common method for hip augmentation in transgender women is liposculpture, also known as fat transplantation. Liposculpture involves removing fat from another part of the body, typically the abdomen, and injecting it into the hips. This is the most natural option, but it requires sufficient natural fat for the procedure.

Recovery

  • Avoid putting pressure on the hips to allow the "new" injected fat to be optimally absorbed by the body.
  • Refrain from engaging in sports activities for four weeks.
